More than 30 World leaders set to join UN LLDC3 conference in Avaza

From August 4 to 8, 2025, Turkmenistan’s “Awaza” National Tourist Zone will host the Third United Nations Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries (LLDCs). The event is expected to welcome heads of state and government from 32 countries, along with representatives from other interested UN member states, the UN Secretary-General, and his deputies. This was announced during a preparatory meeting led by the Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, on July 13.

Participants will include representatives from international and regional organizations, legislative bodies, financial institutions, public associations, and the private sector.

The agenda features opening and closing ceremonies, plenary sessions, five high-level thematic roundtables, and seven specialized forums. These include a South-South Cooperation ministers’ meeting, a parliamentary forum, and forums for the private sector, youth, civil society, and women leaders, as well as discussions on connectivity.

The program also includes thematic exhibitions, cultural days of Central Asian countries, concerts featuring artists, and an official reception hosted by the Government of Turkmenistan. Preparations such as infrastructure readiness, logistics, accommodation, healthcare, catering, and city decoration were also reviewed. Volunteer uniforms and the design of the conference buses were presented during the meeting.
