Ashgabat, April 5, 2026 – Students of the Ashgabat Secondary Vocational School of Tourism recently participated in an educational study tour to the Hemdem Rugs store. The visit provided students with an opportunity to learn about the history, design features, and contemporary market significance of Turkmen carpet art.
During the tour, students examined a variety of handwoven Turkmen carpets, exploring the unique characteristics of different ethnic groups, as well as the cultural significance of colors and motifs. The store showcased carpets from the Tekke, Ersari, Yomut, Saryk, Salyr and other traditions. The goal of this study tour was to prepare students to become future tourism professionals capable of introducing guests to Turkmenistan’s rich cultural heritage.
