Turkmen schoolchildren won 6 medals at the Mathematical Olympiad in North Macedonia

6 medals of various denominations were won by schoolchildren from Turkmenistan at the 29th Balkan Junior Mathematical Olympiad (JBMO-2025), held in Struga. Northern Macedonia from 24 to 29 June.

 

Having performed with great success in the mathematical competition, our students received 1 gold, 4 silver and 1 bronze medals. It should be noted that Turkmenistan was represented by a national team of 6 schoolchildren at the Olympiad site, and each of them returned to his homeland with a well-deserved medal.

 

The gold medal was won by Hemra Gurbanov, a 9th grade student. specialized secondary school No. 86 in Ashgabat with advanced study of English, chemistry and biology. 9th grade students of the same school - Atabay Akmuradov and Yenish Akmammedov was awarded silver medals.

 

Yusup Resulov and Parakhat Odzharov, 9th grade students of the specialized secondary school No. 87 in Ashgabat with advanced language studies, won two more silver medals. The bronze medal at the end of the Olympiad was awarded to Omar Dovranov, a 9th grade student specialized secondary school No. 83 in Ashgabat with advanced study of English. The strongest teams competed on the Olympic site young mathematicians from all over the world. This year, 135 schoolchildren from 23 countries, including Turkmenistan, took part in the prestigious international competition., Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Georgia, Armenia, Ukraine, Moldova, North Macedonia, Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Montenegro, Croatia, Cyprus, France, Romania, Greece, Malaysia, Saudi Arabia, Serbia and Turkey.

 

A brilliant result of the participation of a team of schoolchildren from Turkmenistan testifies to the high level of education of students in secondary schools of the country, the effectiveness of large-scale work to improve the national education system and the efforts made to develop the abilities of young people, increase their talents, stimulate the interest of schoolchildren in studying sciences and getting a quality education for the younger generation.
