Ashgabat hosted 15th Council of Elders meeting of The Organization of Turkic States

The Organization of Turkic States (OTS) held its 15th Council of Elders meeting today in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan. The meeting was chaired by Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, and member of the OTS Council of Elders. Reported by TDH

The fact that Turkmenistan hosted the meeting in its capital demonstrates the country's active participation in developing constructive cooperation with the OTS. Since 2021, Turkmenistan has held observer status in the OTS, and its member countries share common historical roots, and cultural and spiritual traditions with the Turkmen people. This meeting of the Council of Elders, the advisory body of the OTS, is a significant contribution to strengthening friendly interstate relations and multifaceted cooperation.

The meeting was held in Ashgabat at the initiative of the Turkmen side. This high-level event demonstrates Turkmenistan's desire to expand partnerships with Turkish-speaking countries within the framework of an authoritative regional structure.
