An engaging excursion was organized for school students at the Nature Museum of the State Museum of the State Cultural Center of Turkmenistan. This event was arranged by the public organization "Environmental Movement of Turkmenistan." The main goal was to foster ecological awareness among young people and broaden their understanding of nature.
Alongside students from various secondary schools in Ashgabat, students from other regions of the country who were visiting the capital for vacation also participated in the tour. They were guided through the exhibits by a scientific expert from the museum.
During the excursion, students learned in detail about the origins of the Earth, the formation of living organisms, geographic zones and climatic belts, as well as the natural features of Turkmenistan such as its mountains, plains, deserts, lakes, seas, and rivers. They also showed great interest in exhibits related to the country's rich fauna and flora, nature reserves, geological formations, and unique natural wonders.
One of the most captivating exhibits was a meteorite that fell in 1998 near the village of Deryalyk in Köneürgenç district. This rare natural phenomenon sparked lively discussions among the students.
The cultural-educational event was aimed at enhancing students’ love for nature, expanding their knowledge and awareness, and emphasizing the importance of environmental protection.
The State Museum of the State Cultural Center of Turkmenistan was inaugurated in Ashgabat on November 12, 1998, and is one of the country's key cultural institutions.
