President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov paid a working visit to New York, where he attended the plenary meeting of the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the UN’s founding. This was reported by the official media of Turkmenistan.
On Monday, President Berdimuhamedov landed at John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York, where he was warmly welcomed by Turkmenistan’s official delegation.
The high-level meeting of the 80th session was formally opened by the President of the UN General Assembly, Annalena Baerbock. During the jubilee session, discussions focused on ensuring global peace and stability, implementing the Sustainable Development Goals, improving the structure of the UN and the international financial system, as well as addressing climate change and other modern challenges.
Earlier, Turkmenistan had identified its priority areas for participation in the 80th session of the UN General Assembly.
