Legislative works and international cooperation
The Chairwoman of the Mejlis, D. Gulmanova, was the first speaker and informed the attendees about the ongoing work to improve the national legal framework. Working groups, in collaboration with representatives of ministries and sectoral departments, are developing draft laws on energy saving, efficient use of energy, hydrometeorological activities of Turkmenistan, and amendments to the Family and Civil Procedure Codes, the Code "On Land," and the Law of Turkmenistan "On Veterinary Activities." Additionally, work is underway to provide legislative support for international initiatives of the President of Turkmenistan.
The meeting also discussed specific measures to build partnerships with authoritative international structures and parliaments of foreign countries. There was a meeting with the OSCE Secretary-General to discuss the development of inter-parliamentary relations and cooperation in the legislative sphere. Deputies of the Mejlis also participated in a seminar organized by the OSCE Centre in Ashgabat and the Regional Centre for Asia of the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization, as well as in the 18th Conference of the Parliamentary Union of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation. The people's representatives also took part in events to explain the key aspects of domestic and foreign policies of the independent Motherland and the goals of the adopted legal acts and to popularize the literary heritage of the great Turkmen poet and thinker Magtymguly Pyragy.
"Need to improve the activities of open joint-stock companies producing food products"
The Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, H. Geldimyradov, reported on the measures being taken to ensure the dynamic development of economic sectors and improve the supply of high-quality food products to the population. Practical steps are being taken to improve the management of joint-stock companies producing food products and to change their organizational and legal form. Proposals were submitted to the President of Turkmenistan to transfer several joint-stock companies to the jurisdiction of the State Association of the Food Industry and establish factories for the production of dairy products and butter.
President Serdar Berdimuhamedov stressed that one of the key tasks is the constant analysis of the financial and economic situation of all sectors of the country's economy. In this context, emphasis was placed on the need to improve the activities of open joint-stock companies producing food products. Appropriate measures will contribute to a significant increase in the volume of high-quality food products made in Turkmenistan.
Innovative approaches for oil and gas industry
The Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, B. Amanov, reported on the work carried out by the Türkmennebit State Concern on the exploration of deep wells and the production of hydrocarbon resources. The state concern is implementing complex measures in the fuel and energy sector to prospect for and produce oil and natural gas.
To increase the productivity of wells and deep drilling of new underground wells in oil and gas fields, all conditions are created to supply them with modern specialized equipment and technical installations. President Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized the need to regularly improve the material and technical base of the Türkmennebit State Concern to further increase oil production. The Deputy Prime Minister was instructed to continue the implementation of measures to provide the industry with new equipment and tools, allowing appropriate work to be carried out on wells located in oil and gas fields with a depth of more than 7,000 meters.
Rich harvest is expected
Finally, the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, T. Atahalliyev, reported on the progress of seasonal agricultural work in the agro-industrial complex and regions of the country. Care for wheat crops, including their feeding with mineral fertilizers and vegetation irrigation, continued according to agro-technical standards. Proper work is being carried out to gather a rich harvest and strengthen food abundance in the Motherland.
