Turkmenistan Participates in the Global Tourism Forum 2025 in Brussels

A delegation led by Mr. B. Rejepov, Ambassador of Turkmenistan to the Federal Republic of Germany, took part in the Global Tourism Forum 2025, held in Brussels on October 20–21, 2025.

The forum brought together representatives from government agencies, international organizations, and leading companies in the global tourism industry. Among the distinguished participants were Apostolos Sisikostas, EU Commissioner for Tourism and Transport, and Shaikha Al Nuwais, the elected Secretary-General of the UN World Tourism Organization (UNWTO).

The sessions focused on current trends in the global tourism sector, sharing experiences in promoting sustainable tourism, and national initiatives aimed at reviving and strengthening the industry in the post-pandemic period. Special attention was given to digitalization, the implementation of “green” technologies, and the expansion of international cooperation to enhance the quality of tourism services.

Turkmenistan’s participation in the forum once again demonstrated the country’s strong commitment to contributing to global initiatives, fostering mutual understanding, and enhancing international cooperation for shared prosperity. The nation continues to view tourism as one of the priorities of sustainable socio-economic development and attaches great importance to promoting its rich cultural and historical heritage worldwide.
